Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the relationship with his or her assigned clients. The BDM drives new business through the identification, development, negotiation, and closure of new agreements with clients, and participates in the subsequent maintenance of client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
The BDM is fully accountable and responsible for the success of the account. (S)he leads, coordinates and manages the client relationship to become the client’s trusted advisor as indicated by the client seeking oXya’s advice. He/she successfully creates and executes an ongoing account business plan that connects oXya and client strategies.
The BDM will partner with the HDS sales team to engage on SAP opportunities and will coordinate all necessary actions from both sides to ensure success.
The BDM achieves and exceeds profitable growth and performance targets, increasing oXya market position and long-term growth opportunities. He/she gives leadership to design and deliver timely, innovative, highly leverageable competitive value solutions to the client. He/she is able to work with all oXya teams and collaborate with partners to maximize value to oXya and the client.
The BDM also shares industry, deal, and sales best-practice knowledge with the oXya and HDS community.
The BDM will also be the first level of communication to clients about the “One Hitachi” strategy to increase the service value to customers, to leverage all the group products and services.
In addition, the BDM will:
- Represent HDS in the assigned oXya business unit.
- Deliver revenue results in the assigned oXya business unit
- Build customer proposals in coordination with oXya teams (Solutions Architect, etc.) and manage the whole sales process, including the first steps of negotiation
- Be an active member of the oXya business committees
- Participate in the business reporting process
- Help to manage the internal and external Go-to-Market process to increase the value to the customer
- Evangelize and engage with internal HDS stakeholders, including: operations, finance, product management, marketing, channel, Hitachi Ltd and executives to deliver oXya services to the HDS sales teams
- Drive effective customer and partner engagements through customer briefings, proofs of concept and other initiatives
- Demonstrate thought leadership across extended/virtual alliance team
- Evangelize and educate on key solutions through engagement with direct sales and channel teams as well as Global Accounts and GSI’s
- Represent oXya at multiple SAP conferences, events
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required
- Engineering or business school graduate or equivalent
- 6-10 years direct experience in IT services
- Knowledgeable of technology, solution selling and business
- Deep understanding of SAP Business Cloud market.
- SAP knowledge would be preferred
- Ability to work with teams to create joint business opportunities that drive significant revenue generation and market share for all.
- Excellent technical presentation skills with an ability to interact effectively with multiple audiences
- Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in relevant local languages and English - preferred
