The primary objective of the Business Development Manager is to promote and sell the innovative Managed Services DC and Application Workload Services offering in close cooperation with the country sales teams.
The position will demonstrate Dimension Data’s capability and experience in the relevant specialist area thereby creating more depth in current client accounts and identifying opportunities for new accounts.
This employee will operate in environments where our most complex solutions and/or services are sold. This employee will be have deeper understanding of our Next Generation Datacentre (NGDC) solution area with broad knowledge across multiple different solutions or areas with a sound level of industry knowledge and commercial acumen. The BDM MSDC/AWS (Managed Services Data Centre/Application Workload Services) will partner with sales and technical teams in complex and larger operational environments on the most complex sales engagements and in certain instances will take responsibility for managing the client relationship. In such instances, the BDM MSDC/AWS will lead and manage the creation and closure of a strong pipeline against established program targets working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Country Sales and Technical teams in EU to identify and win the opportunities for MSDC and AWS.
- Participate in, support and at times lead and manage the sales process by generating demand through aligning client needs with the DD offering.
- Promote the organisation’s MS DC services and provide training to country sales/technical teams. Manage and develop pipeline of the MSDC offering.
- Promote the organisation’s AWS services and SAP service providers training to country sales/technical teams. Manage and develop pipeline of the AWS offering.
- Hunt and create MSDC/AWS opportunities, contributing to the pre-sales process by working with the relevant internal stakeholders to craft the best solution design for the client.
- Develop when necessary, customised pricing models based on customer specific requirements.
- Cooperate and work with other departments within DD in order to always develop consistent offering and solutions to the customers.
- Through their business development activities, they contribute to a consistent go-to-market approach.
- Design of go-to-market campaigns that are in line with overall NG DC offering and that will be used to target the potential markets and clients.
- Partner with the sales management and client management teams to define the most effective strategies to penetrate markets effectively.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- A good understanding of the vast range of IT operations, Application Managed Services and Dimension Data service offerings
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working in or with IT Departments to obtain sufficient operational experience
- Proven client engagement and consulting experience coupled with solid experience
- Business development and project management experience would be advantageous
- At least 8 years’ experience in IT Managed Services in customer or Managed Services provider environment.
- At least 8 years’ experience in Application Managed Services, especially on ERP Applications (SAP, Oracle Financials, etc) in customer or Managed Services provider environment.
- Demonstrated Datacentre related and sales experience (at least 8 years)
- Demonstrated network within IT industry, particularly with Executives
- Experience in developing IT strategy and a track record of at least 2 transformational engagements within the IT industry
