Job Description Summary
The Supply Specialist (Fondu) transfers raw materials and supplies that are used to produce Fondu department products from the cold and dry storage areas to the Fondu department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Check the production schedule to ensure proper supplies are used.
  • Fill out work area in/out sheet daily.
  • Inspect the Forklift and Electric Dolly you will be using and fill out inspection sheet at the beginning of your shift.  Notify your supervisor if there are any problems with the equipment.
  • Comply with all safety precautions, utilizing extreme care when operating a Forklift.
  • Bring raw materials and other supplies from the cooler and warehouse as needed.
  • Bring supplies from the dry warehouse when last minute adjustments are made to the production schedule.
  • Open raw material or supply packaging.
  • Record all supplies taken in and out of storage using the EWIN and SAP system.
  • Set out sufficient raw materials and supplies to allow continuous production of the Fondu products that are scheduled for production.
  • Collect unused raw materials at the end of production, place dry materials in the hall staging area, count and fill out the proper form.
  • Fill out Conforming and Non-Conforming forms as needed.
  • Take counted unused materials back to the warehouse.
  • Comply with all quality, safety and work rule requirements.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
  • Follows all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
  • Follow all food safety procedures.
  • Follow all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications And Competencies
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as a fork lift trucks and/or a hand truck dolly (must obtain fork lift truck operating certification).
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions relating to Fondu Department supply operations.
  • Ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and use hands to touch objects or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and is regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds while performing duties.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Working Conditions
Work is performed largely in a manufacturing environment.  Hours of work will generally be at least 40 hours a week.  At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns.

Protective Equipment
Employees must wear safety glasses, slip resistant steel toe safety footwear, protective gloves, a hair net, Tyvex apron, and ear protection, as required.  Supply Specialist is required to wear a yellow safety vest.
