Supply Demand Management (SDM) team in Singapore. The SDM group is responsible for analyzing and managing supply to meet the demand of Apple products within the Pacific Region (Asia, Australia/New Zealand and Japan).
Description
MBAs are hired into one of the following areas and rotated into others as a part of professional development. Your first assignment will depend on combination of your background and company needs:-
Demand Planning
The Demand Planner is a conductor within the operations organization: coordinating new product launch! supplies, rationing during supply constraints, and supporting inventories for advertisements, deals, or marketing promotions.
A Demand Planner must use trend analysis and other forecast techniques to assess the demand risk or opportunities associated with Apple Retail and Online stores, as well as country-level Finance or! Reseller partner forecasts. Ultimately, the Planner is responsible for ensuring that the company meets its financial goals by maximizing sales with optimal inventory efficiency. A Demand Planner provides clear and proactive communication with several cross-functional teams including World-Wide Supply/Demand Management in Cupertino, Reseller Operations, Logistics, Retail Operations.
Supply Planning
The Supply Planner is responsible for understanding, tracking and managing supply chain execution from the factory to the customer. The Supply Planner combines the demand forecast with a detailed knowledge of supply chain lead-times to set appropriate inventory targets and leads the factory and internal teams to execute a clean plan based on logical, data-driven analysis. The Supply Planner role is an expert in quantitative modelling of the real-world supply chain to track execution and quickly identify issues. A Supply Planner must act with urgency, constantly recalibrating plans based on incoming data, reacting quickly to new information or constraints, and driving corrective action with clear communication.
Allocation & Systems
Allocation and systems collaborates with Demand and Supply planners to execute agreed upon allocation to our partners. They use Apple internal systems to ensure timely fulfilment of orders in a mix that maximises end consumer sell-through for the company. This team ensures that our process and tools are consistent across various product teams which allows Apple to reallocate resources as needed to scale for product launches or periods of constrained supply.
Business Analysis
The Business Analyst drives implementation of SDM initiatives and projects, leading cross-functional teams to achieve objectives. The Analyst interprets requirements and issues, provides expertise and takes actions in a concise and timely manner to support the SDM team. The Analyst maintains extensive business knowledge and proactively identifies business process improvements and ways to increase efficiency in SDM and leverages data, tools and process changes to deliver the desired results. The Business Analyst innovates, discovers and creates solutions to complex technical and business issues and conducts training and provides support on new systems. The Analyst develops ad hoc reporting and automations upon request as well as documentation and materials on business processes and systems.
While we do not have a formal rotational program, rotations within SDM across products and roles are fairly! common to offer exposure to various business functions. A background in supply chain is not required and! there are no restrictions based on prior years of work experience.
